We need training that builds skills. We need effective, interactive experiences that motivate and actively engage our people in the learning process.
Schools, office buildings and other worksites are filled with people who have never known a world without videogames, cell phones, and the internet. In the four coming years, those who retire will be replaced by 18-40 year-olds who grew up with videogames.

CREATING CUTTING EDGE
CORPORATE COURSES
is a 2-days hands-on workshop where trainers, consultants, instructional designers and HR professionals like you, learn and experience the framework that integrates brain-based learning, story-telling, gamification, enrichment and visual thinking into one course design.
UNDERSTANDING HOW PEOPLE NATURALLY LEARN
With a learner-centered perspective we will empower you by helping you develop a deeper understanding of how people learn. The principles covered in this section are distilled from research from a variety of disciplines like neuroscience, bio-chemistry or cognitive psychology and narrowed to an easy to use pattern.
MAPPING THE LEARNING JOURNEY
Business-directed learning design is what will position you as a powerful business partner. You will learn and practice how to design learning paths that build skills and habits and drive business results.
STRUCTURING AND DESIGNING COURSES
How to choose the right instructional strategies (e.g., case studies, labs, discussions, tests, papers, problem sets) and where in the flow you should place them. You will learn how to create those activities and how to effectively integrate them in your face-to-face workshop or virtual class.
ENHANCING LEARNING WITH ENRICHED ENVIRONMENTS
Learning is enhanced by environmental enrichment. Research finds that the environments in which people participate in more challenging cognitively stimulating activities, results in greater cognitive reserve. In this section you will learn how to easily produce tools that stimulate the brain within physical and social surroundings.
CREATING ENGAGEMENT WITH GAMES
When training feels dull, people are not being engaged and motivated. Research supports the effectiveness of game-based learning and practicians give us the tools to use them. You will learn and test how the main game principles work and how they can be integrated into your learning designs in the simple way.
PILOTING, REFINING, LAUNCHING
The success of a course very often depends on how well course creators conduct a formative evaluation and how they launch it. Getting client buy-in is crucial for the success of your training. This section is about strategies and tools for starting smart.
COURSE CREATION BOARD GAME ARENA
In Day 2 of the workshop you’ll be testing the learnings from each section of day 1 and course creating the new way, while playing board games.
YOUR HOST
OLIMPIA MESA
Creating courses is not only about producing learning activities, it means you can bring into existence new ways of living, working, and connecting. Picasso did not just produce paintings, he created Cubism. After spending more than a decade developing courses and certifying other instructional designers for corporate organizations all over the world, Olimpia felt prepared to share her way of creating learning and she is now helping corporate trainers and independent consultants like you, to go to the next level. She’s also the Founder of Book To Courses Online School, featured in Business Magazine, known for helping book authors transform their books into powerful online courses, and during this workshop she’ll help you create cutting edge corporate courses.
It took me a few years of research and investments to figure-out this framework. It doesn’t have to be the same for you.

WHY SHOULD YOU TAKE THE LEAP
September 20-21, 2021
This workshop is designed to get you learning and doing, then implementing changes in your course design from day one. You are not invited to listen to ‘nice to know’ impractical advice, or to consume lots of content, only to leave without actionable strategies that help you achieve results. You are invited to forever change how you see course design and to use what you learn to build the learning products you always wanted. This is a workshop about creating the work that actually gets you where you want to go.

THE COURSES YOU WANT

Now I‘ll assess my trainings and add the missing parts, also remove some. I need to try being more imaginative, also need to try including more "sensing", "acting", and "embedding". I’m feeling so excited and driven!
Ivelina Slavova
I feel renewed. It‘s strange to look at my trainings now knowing that I’ve designed them in such a way - without taking into account how the learners‘ brains work. It’s sad, but I am filled with hope and determination to improve them now. The ideas about how to design the SIAE activities are very useful. The boardgame was a great way to stimulate us to come up with specific plans on what we will do next. Thank you! Keep up the great work!
Martina Teufner
I feel engaged, inspired, and motivated to (re)design my trainings. Ideas I value and I have enhanced: the 4 steps model, storytelling, gamification for learning, posters instead of powerpoint, the basal ganglia for embedding.
Roxana Carceag
Thank you Olimpia! Frankly (and take this from a person who attended a lot of courses/trainings) it‘s the first time I get out of the door pleased and content with my decision. Great job! I finally got to attend a training that was worthwhile. I’ve learned a lot out of it! I will build my own boardgames. I‘ll add "colour" to my workshops, I’ll interact more with learners during team activities, not only when they are done. I’ll also use all the space of the training room except the ceiling... Thank you.
Claudiu Ciortea
I‘m feeling curious, energised, optimistic, and willing to work on creating new courses, creative courses. I’ve learned how to build impactful activities for each step of the learning process. I will do a lot more before creating the course, during facilitation, and after the course was delivered.
Corina Bacanu
I‘m feeling hopeful, enthusiastic, and full of new ideas. I’ve learned how important the 4-step structure is, how to let learners take control of their learning process, and how to create the visual materials which can be used especially after training. I need to try focusing on building better learning outcomes and I need to implement the ideas in all our programs, not just one session.
Geneviève Tougas, M.Sc.
I feel greatly equipped to apply the methodology. I need more Sensing, Storytelling, Integrating activities, games, and follow-up in my trainings. Thank you very much, Olimpia! A pleasure.
Raluca-Ana Medesan
I‘m feeling energised, satisfied, stretched, empowered, and involve with learning. I’ve learned that learning is more than engaging people into activities, values have to be shifted first and personal growth plays a great deal when providing learning contexts for others. Thank you! When do we meet again? And thanks a lot to those who contributed to make you such a wonderful person.

I virtually travelled with Olimpia on three different continents because of the three reasons I appreciate her the most. When on the Old Continent Olimpia brings new approach to old themes. Our over-used communication trainings become interesting journeys, hip-language translates into interesting and catchy games and collaboration goes to a new level because of her fresh approach. Olimpia transforms old fashioned content into value for new learners. When on the Continent of Spices I called Olimpia for help as she is one of the most seasoned and adaptable consultants I know, analyzing and adapting to many cultures and markets. And in the New World in thought of her and recommended her to a friend because, as I told Olimpia herself, when she brings the design to a course, you feel like a kid on Christmas day, excited to open the box and see what is inside.

Olimpia is a very talented and skilled facilitator, who does an excellent job connecting with and meeting the needs of her audience… Her in depth knowledge of instructional design and facilitation skills are complemented nicely by her pleasant, professional demeanor. It was a real treat to work with her. I’ve already been able to successfully integrate things I learned from her in my designs and delivery with very effective results. I look forward to collaborating with her again on future endeavors.
